Frequently Asked Questions

Appointments & Booking

What can I expect at my first appointment?

Your first session is an Initial Nutrition Assessment (about 60 minutes). We’ll review your health history, eating habits, lifestyle, and goals. From there, I’ll create a personalized plan and recommendations tailored to your needs.

How many appointments will I need?

It depends on your goals. Some people need just 2-3 sessions for general guidance, while others benefit from ongoing support. I offer different packages (with or without meal plans) so you can choose the level of support that’s right for you. Follow up sessions are available after the package sessions are completed.

How do I book an appointment?

You can book online through my website or contact me directly to arrange a time. Once booked, you’ll receive confirmation and intake forms to complete before your session.

What if I’m not ready to commit to a package?

No problem! You can start with an initial assessment and decide at that time which package you would like to go with.

Insurance & Coverage

Do I need a doctor’s referral to see you?

No referral is required. You can book an appointment directly. However, some extended health insurance plans may ask for a referral in order to cover the cost.

Are your services covered by insurance?

Yes, many extended health insurance plans cover Registered Dietitian (RD) services. Coverage varies depending on your plan, so check with your provider. I’ll provide receipts you can submit for reimbursement.

Locations & Accessibility

Do you offer virtual appointments?

Yes! I offer both in-person and virtual sessions (via secure video platform). In-person sessions are offered at my office in Vaughan.  Virtual care makes it easy to connect from anywhere in Ontario.

Do you see clients outside Ontario?

Yes, since I offer virtual appointments, I am able to see clients in Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the Canadian Territories.

Services & Approach

What’s the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?

In Ontario, “dietitian” is a regulated health professional Dietitians are licensed by the College of Dietitians of Ontario, ensuring evidence-based, ethical, and safe nutrition care. “Nutritionist” is not a protected title and may not always indicate formal training (unless it is also used by a registered dietitian).

Do you create meal plans?

I offer customized meal plans based on your health needs, lifestyle, and food preferences. For clients who want more support, I also provide access to the EatLove meal planning app for interactive, dietitian-created menus.

What’s your approach to nutrition?

I use a compassionate, balanced, evidence-based, and realistic approach. My goal is to help you build sustainable habits without rigid diets, food rules, or guilt. I emphasize Mediterranean-style eating, whole foods, and flexibility to suit your lifestyle.

Do you provide support between sessions?

Depending on your package, you’ll have access to tools like the EatLove meal planning app, resources, and messaging options to keep you on track.

Nutrition for Health Conditions

Can you help with medical conditions?

As a Registered Dietitian, I provide nutrition counselling for many health concerns, including:

    • Digestive health (IBS, inflammatory conditions such as Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis, diverticulosis, GERD)
    • Diabetes & blood sugar management
    • Heart health (cholesterol, blood pressure)
    • Weight management
    • Menopause & healthy aging
    • Sports and performance nutrition
What if I just want general healthy eating guidance?

That’s one of the most common reasons people see a dietitian. I’ll help you cut through nutrition confusion and create an approach that works for your lifestyle—whether that’s meal planning, label reading, or building a balanced plate.

Can you help if I have food allergies or follow a special diet?

Yes! I can work with food allergies, intolerances, and special diets such as vegetarian, vegan, low FODMAP, or gluten-free. I’ll make sure your nutrition is balanced and enjoyable within your dietary needs.
